Food Safety Supervisor Course -

This is a 1 day course that requires you to complete 2 units from the hospitality package.

8.5 hours duration including breaks with courses typically starting from 9am - 5:30pm

New legislation requires most food businesses in the hospitality and retail food sector to have at least one nominated Food Safety Supervisor (FSS) on the premises.

Businesses have until 30th September2011 to appoint their trained FSS and notify the relevant council of their FSS.

The FSS must be trained by a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) approved by the NSW Food Authority.

MHM Australasia PTY LTD is approved by the NSW Food Authority to offer FSS training.

the state on any day of the week (including weekends).

Who does FSS apply to?

Any business that is serving ready to eat or potentially hazardous and not sold and served in its package will need a Food Safety Supervisor. These businesses might include restaurants, cafes, takeaway shops, caterers, bakeries, pubs, clubs, hotels, and supermarket hot food sales.
Certain food preparation businesses are exempt from the requirement for a food safety supervisor (FSS) and include;

• not for profit community and charitable clauses
• school canteens
• childcare centres
• delicatessens who do no more than slice smallgoods,cheeses and processed meats
• green grocers who do no more than process fresh fruit and vegetables, or seafood retailers who sell only raw seafood

The course cost includes a comprehensive workbook and the $30 NSW Food Authority certificate. Certificates are issued within 5 working days of attendance to the training and successful completion of an examination.
